New to Escape The Lava? This beginner guide walks you through your first session in Rainbow World—from placing your treadmill to earning your first Win and unlocking Volcano World at 5 total Wins.

Note: Escape The Lava shares core mechanics with Escape The Tsunami and other STOP INC. escape simulators—portable treadmill training, Wins currency, pet multipliers, per-world speed resets, and leaderboard competition. Embedded guide videos may show sister titles with identical systems.

Step-by-Step

Step 1 — Spawn and controls: You start in Rainbow World. On PC press 1 to equip your portable treadmill; on mobile tap the treadmill HUD icon. Learn WASD movement and Spacebar jump before attempting runs.

Step 2 — First training session: Place the treadmill on flat ground near the course entrance. Equip all available pet slots (starter Noob is fine). Run in place until you reach ~10 speed—the Rainbow breakpoint.

Step 3 — First lava run: Attempt the obstacle course. Rainbow has a 100% community clear rate, so focus on learning lava timing rather than speed. Each successful finish awards 1 Win.

Step 4 — Win budgeting: Save Wins for Volcano unlock (5 total) before spending on Basic eggs. One early hatch is acceptable if you have spare Wins after your third Rainbow clear.

Step 5 — Unlock Volcano: At 5 Wins, unlock Volcano World. Accept the speed reset, re-train to ~50, and read our Volcano World guide before attempting.

Advanced Tips

Enable Shift Lock on PC for stable camera angles during platform jumps. Bookmark Controls and Codes—no active codes exist as of June 2026, so all progression is gameplay-driven.
